Yeah I said it!! I’ve combined two decadent British desserts to bring you this gorgeous mash up – “sticky toffee pudding eton mess”. And that’s exactly what it is! It’s sweet, warm, crunchy, refreshing and indulgent. It’s the whole deal. The sticky toffee pudding is gooey and warm. The crunchy toasted hazelnuts and meringue bits make the perfect bite to an already delicious spoonful. And don’t forget the generous dollop of whipped cream that is obviously so needed.
This dessert can be as easy or labour-intensive as you want to make it!! You can make each step from scratch, or you can be like us and spend less time making it and MORE time EATING it. After all the holiday cooking and meals, I love recipes that are super easy and quick to put together. So yeah, I think we both know which option you should choose!
I mean, it almost seemed like too easy of a recipe to post. There’s no cooking/baking involved (unless you really really want to) and we used leftover pudding and extra broken meringues from the holidays. Maybe it’s too easy for a blog post, but it was too GOOD not to share!
This dessert is the ultimate comfort food. Who doesn’t love a warm dessert that melts in your mouth? And then followed by the crunch of meringue and hazelnuts with a lingering chocolatey taste that is absolutely decadent.
- 2 meringues, broken
- 2 slices of leftover sticky toffee pudding with toffee sauce
- whipped cream
- toasted hazelnuts, banana slices, chocolate shavings for garnish
- Warm the sticky toffee puddings in the oven or microwave. Place in a bowl and top with broken meringue pieces and whipped cream.
- Garnish with hazelnuts, banana and chocolate. Serve warm!
